What is the TheraPro Method Assessment?
The TheraPro Method Assessment: A Sniper Approach
The TheraPro Method Assessment is a movement screen designed to identify and address movement limitations and how they may be contributing to a client's pain or dysfunction.
Rooted in evidence-informed assessment and performance principles, the TheraPro Method provides therapists with a framework for assessment, treatment, and progression to get clients pain-free and moving well.
The assessment contains two parts: A global assessment and a focused assessment based on the results from the global screen.
Part 1: Global Movement Check
This first phase screens fundamental MacroMovements: global movement patterns essential to life, emphasizing mobility and motor control in all planes of motion. These patterns serve as checkpoints for a properly integrated function. Each is scored as a pass/fail, guiding whether further investigation is needed.
Part 2: Focused Assessment
If a macromovement does not meet baseline function, we move into a Focused Assessment, using targeted Limitation Locators to pinpoint whether the dysfunction is rooted in:
- Mobility/Flexibility limitations (e.g., joint stiffness, soft tissue restrictions), or
- Motor Control/Strength/Stability issues (e.g., poor coordination, neuromuscular control, strength)
From there, the therapist can use a targeted approach to address mobility and motor control limitations based on their scope of practice, and the client can receive personalized corrective strategies to address the limitations and support their path to better, pain-free mechanics.
Purpose of the Assessment
The goal isn’t to "fix" everything immediately; it’s to identify key limiting factors and ensure new clients get personalized support. Over time, this helps reduce pain, improve movement efficiency, and support better results.
